Love radiates from pictures in this special children's book

Makayla Sitton could read — really read — when she was 2 years old. By 6, she had studied the history of the Titanic and memorized more lines of Scripture than most adults. She adored books as much as she loved dancing and music, and stories were always spilling from the little girl. It wasn’t uncommon for her to recite an impromptu tale in the living room of her Jupiter home. Her mother, Muriel Sitton, kept an audio recorder nearby so she could document them.

Makayla Sitton loved her bedroom. It was, as she liked to say, "the place where only good things happen," the place where she drifted to sleep each night as hymns streamed from her CD player, breathing peace into every sage and pink motif, every book and doll, every dress hand-made by her grandmother.

This room, with its idyllic, hand-painted mural covering the closet and pastel daisy rug that symbolized God's "Circle of Blessings," has come to frame the staggering contrasts of Thanksgiving night at the Sittons' Jupiter home, the gulfs between good and evil, darkness and light.
